Off-Broadway

Art imitating life imitating art.

At the Marc Jacobs Spring Ready-to-Wear 2010 runway show, the designer was not expressing a certain decade but a present-day moment and place -- In this case, somewhere likely downtown, where a lineup of chorus girls, ballerinas, and dancers were on their way home from a hard day's work. This, it seems is fashion being witty. The cheeky collection is a literal take on fashion imitating the surroundings it inhabits.
